About Us
Energy Dashboard is a project of the MESL Lab at UCSD. The goal of this project is to measure and record fine-grained energy usage data across the entire campus, from the both a top-down (campus meters) and a bottom-up (individual meters) perspective. We hope to characterize and study energy usage and how different plans for energy conservation vary in their effectiveness.

The MESL lab is part of the computer science and engineering department at UCSD and is interested in many aspects of computation and systems. Our work stretches from energy management to wireless sensor networks to embedded systems. Among our many projects are ones related to power management in both small-scale and large-scale systems.

The lead researchers of the project are:
Dr. Yuvraj Agarwal
Research Scientist
Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering

Thomas Weng
Graduate Student
Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering

Dr. Rajesh Gupta
Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering

The following undergraduates have been instrumental in developing the site:
Jawon Lee
Undergraduate Student
Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering
Lead engine developer, framework developer, client side and server side development

Lilia Hu
Undergraduate Student
Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering
Web app programing, client side development, AJAX development

We would like to thank Robert Austin and John Dilliott at UCSD Physical Plant Services, who were instrumental in submetering the CSE building and provided access to campus energy data from the campus meters. We would also like to thank Bob Caldwell for his help in gaining access to the PPS database.
